As a company, at Kingsley Plastics we take our corporate & social responsibilities extremely serious and, to this end we are again part of the judging panel for the Young Enterprise scheme for local schools. Kevin Down, KP’s Group Chairman is participating in the Young Enterprise Dragons’ Den event next month as one of the panel of ‘dragons’.
This years ‘Dragons Den’ event takes place on Wednesday January 29th at Blandford School and is organised by Young Enterprise as part of its flagship programme, teaching & enabling young people to set up their own business’ and learn about enterprise.
Kevin is be one of five judges for the prestigious event, at which students will be given the opportunity to present in front of a live public audience, pitching business plans with the hope of winning investment for their company. Judges will then have the chance to ask additional questions before choosing which company to invest in.
Kevin commented: “It is a privilege to be once again asked to attend the Young Enterprise Dragons’ Den event and I am looking forward to meeting some exceptional young people with professional and creative ideas.”
Each year there are up to nine companies from various schools around the region, who were all competing for a maximum investment of £200 from the Dragons.
Previous years has seen such excellent ideas rewarded with various amounts of investment from the dragons including in 2019 a successful team from Clayesmore School in Dorset, of where students had designed a social enterprise company selling products in order to raise awareness & of the threat of Meningitis among young adults. After a 5 minute presentation in front of a live audience the judges retired to pick the most refreshing, rewarding & unique business plan amongst the group of 9 teams.
