Kingsley Plastics begin Construction of New Manufacturing Complex

2019 is shaping up to be another big year for Kingsley Plastics Ltd, as it announces the construction of the UK’s largest purpose built GRP Housing manufacturing complex.

Work has already begun at the 10-acre Winkleigh site to construct the purpose-built factory unit, which will consolidate some of the current 3 manufacturing sites together into one 48,000 sq/ft location, the largest purpose-built GRP Housing production facility in the UK.

Kingsley Plastics Chairman Kevin Down, said; “This is a great time of growth for Kingsley and this new facility will allow us to substantially increase our offering.”

“With a projected £4m overall expenditure on this new site complete with efficiencies it will house the very latest in manufacturing equipment and software increasing our manufacturing capacity up to 5-fold. Not only that, with our future expansion plans in place it will create up to 50 new job opportunities in the years to come, from manufacturing staff and site teams, to new sales and office staff too.”

He added “With the dedication and hard work of all our staff and the willingness of Torridge District Council in aiding our immediate and longer-term growth plans upon the site, we are now perfectly situated to continue Kingsley’s growth, long into the future.’’

Kingsley Plastics Ltd produce the largest range of GRP Modular Buildings, Gas Cabinets, Odour Control Covers and Roadside Enclosures in the UK. Established in 1977, Kingsley serve blue chip clients in industries such as water, gas, electrical, rail, and petro-chemical.

More recently, Kingsley became the first company in the world to achieve the prestigious LPCB certification for their range of Modular Buildings and Enclosures of LPS 1175 Security Ratings SR2, SR3 and SR4, meaning they are fully approved and capable of protecting the UK’s critical national infrastructure against vandal and terrorist attacks alike.

Managing Director Mark Manley said, “The new facility is expected to initially double the turnover for the company within the next 2 years and will allow us to streamline our processes and utilise more efficient production technologies.
