National Grid & Kingsley Composites – A ‘POWERFUL’ COMBINATION

Date: 12/04/2021

With tens of thousands of GRP Housings installed across the UK, Europe & across the globe, it’s always appreciated to receive great feedback from any company and this time, from National Grid Metering (NGM).

Kingsley designed, manufactured & installed a large GRP ‘Gas Governor’ Housing upon NGM’s Chatterley Whitfield S.T.O.R Power Generation site in a location just north of Stoke-On-Trent, UK. Being such a prestigious site NGM also took a filming of the site via an airborne drone & ground based cameras. In this video NGM explain the benefits of the site complete with the full installation of the gas governor set within the Kingsley Composites GRP Housing.

The Kingsley housings were produced to the latest engineering standards and delivered via one of our fleet of hi-ab equipped lorries and specialist installation team. The housing itself is of an ‘anti-vandal’ textured finish that unlike a smooth moulded comparative, its external colouring will not fade after just a few months nor be acceptable to scratches or vandal attack. The unit even given its large size also came complete with an integral explosion relief roofing system, typical of all Kingsley’s Gas & Electricity related housings.

We would like to thank National Grid for their permission to use the footage and would certainly recommend a visit to the NG/NGM website to view the great things they do for the benefit of the UK’s power & gas supply.

Kingsley hold longterm contracts with National Grid as it does with the majority of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure companies and is the reason for our continued manufacturing throughout the Covid 19 pandemic, due to the company being classed as a ‘key manufacturer’ within the UK’s wider critical path supply chain.
