Description: Within a completely newly constricted Sewage Treatment Plant, Kingsley were given the task of producing removable GRP covers that had to be removed by hand!! Under a very strict and tight budget, notwithstanding the timescales involved, Kingsley succesfully installed a wide range of GRP Covers to the Lamella Lanes, PST Tanks and Storm Overflow Sludge Tanks.

All covers possess a non-slip finish as standard, are maintanace free with a life span in excess of 25 years. All products were installed whilst the site was still under construction with a large effort by all the companies involved, in interacting with each other.

DescriptionRingsend WwTW in Dublin, by Odour Control installation projects, was quite a complex site. Not only was the site fully operational which, although standard for most, some of the tanks to be covered were huge. These included the Sludge Storage Tanks which were 15.2 Mtrs in span by some 87.5 Mtrs in leigth.

Other areas that were covered included the Inlet Works, Inlet Works Channels, Grit Tanks, Dirty Back Wash Tanks and Storm Overflow Tanks.

Project Ref:   Ashford STW - South West Water

Year:              2001

Value:            £82,000

DescriptionBased near Barnstaple in Devon, Ashford STW underwent a transformation which included the addition of 6 No. large BAFF Cells. Purac being the main Process Contractor hired the work of Kingsley to design, manufacture & install a wide range of Non-Slip GRP Covers.

These not only included covers for the BAFF Plant, but also others to negate the effects of odour from the Grit Channels and Lanes, Inlet Works and Detritor Tanks. With a timescale in the region of only 12 weeks, Kingsley were able to complete the projet not only on time, but also well within the stipulated budget as afforded by South West Water.

Project Ref:   Bromborough WwTW - North West Water/United Utilities

Year:              2000

Value:            £734,000

Description: At the time of award, Bromborough WwTW was the largest single Odour Control GRP Cover project ever won by Kingsley and was also the largest single contract award in the industry for some years.

The scope of the contract included the Odour Abatement of a large number of tanks, ranging in size from 2.0 x 2.0 mtrs to others including the BAFF Primary Cell Tanks measuring 45 mtrs x 9.6 mtrs(6 off)clear span. Other tanks also included the Primary & Overflow Storm Tanks of which each measured in the region of 85 mtrs x 6.2 mtrs (9 off).

Kingsley were required to install all components including GRP Kiosks & Covers, whilst the site remained fully open & operational. Other tanks upon the site that also needed covering were the complicated in shape and design Inlet Works, Sludge Holding Tanks, Inlet lanes & Channels.

The overall project lasted some 9-10 months of continuos site attendance with at least one of our 40ft Articulated lorries appearing on site, what semed to be, a daily occurance.

With the succes of the GRP Cover and Kiosk installation complete, Kingsley were asked to return to site and to install further areas of GRP Covers and Pultruded GRP 'Gantrys' for the use of on-site GRP Piping. All aspects of this 'second' contract was covered under the original 'contract terms' with the addition of variation orders being placed.

As a result of the partnering ethic of the complete on-site team, Kingsley were invited to, and attended, the Christmas party held jointly by United Utilites & Purac Ltd of which resulted in a visit to the 'Cabin Club' in Liverpool. Kingsley Plastics would like to thank all those involved with this project including the then North West Water & Kelvin Wood & John Dewhurst of Purac Ltd for their professionalism & dedication upon site.

A wide range of Covers were requested and indstalled including Heavy Duty, Non-Slip, Beam & Infill and Single Span 'Two-Man' Lifting Covers.
